Carrying on Carol’s legacy through service, support, and hope. Donations are used to help some of Carol’s biggest passions during her dash, including: Cancer Awareness & Research, Education and Literacy, Veteran Aid, Assisting Developmentally Disabled Individuals, and Animals
OUR MISSION & PURPOSE
Anchors – from Carol, (AFC), a Foundation, is dedicated to providing awareness and enrichment to the lives of people and their families impacted by Cancer, illiteracy and learning disabilities through awarding gifts, encouragement, and hope. Through ongoing fundraising, AFC will provide Cancer care packages, Veteran’s assistance, clothing, trip awards, employee recognition, adaptive equipment, books, educational and tutoring materials, scholarships and pet supplies.
HOW WE HELP

Animals & Pets
AFC will provide pet supplies to pets and pet guardians in need. AFC will partner with animal shelters to offer assistance in finding loving, suitable homes for homeless pets.
Developmentally Disabled Services
AFC will partner with IDD organizations to offer support and resources to individuals diagnosed with an intellectual disability, as well as their families and caretakers. AFC will raise funds to provide clothing, adaptive equipment and other services that would benefit the overall quality of life for the individual.
Veterans & Military Families
AFC will work with the VA and other veteran assistance programs to help with identifying and addressing ongoing issues faced by veterans on a daily basis. AFC will provide care packages, adaptive equipment, scholarships and much more to help ensure appropriate services and support is being given to our veterans.
Teachers & Education Services
AFC will offer aid in promoting literacy and learning by awarding scholarships to students, offering educational supplies and books to schools, libraries and other programs in need.
Cancer Patients, Survivors, & Families
AFC will partner with other foundations, donors, private citizens to raise funds to increase cancer awareness, provide cancer pre-screening, offer assistance (emotional, educational & financial) to current cancer patients and families. AFC will support any type of cancer with a focus on ovarian cancer education and early detection testing.

We are touched by the wholehearted message we recently received in the mail from the retired staff of Oley Valley Elementary Center who knew/worked alongside Carol and shed some light on how she’s touched other’s lives.

Running with Purpose
December 14, 2019
Anchors – from Carol was able to exceed it’s goal of raising over $2,300 through fundraising efforts of the 2019 Kiawah Run. Proceeds went to t-shirts for the runners and the remaining will go to support one of Anchors – from Carol’s causes.

Anchors – from Carol President, Leslie Smith and Stepfanie Pineiro recently attended the Inperium Open House event in Reading, PA. AFC joined other Inperium Inc affiliates over the course of 2 days sharing Carol’s story and the mission of future endeavors of Anchors-From Carol.

July 31, 2019
Anchors – from Carol recently visited Roper St.Francis Hospital Cancer Center on July 31, 2019. Board Director Leslie Smith presented the hospital with 13 embroidered head scarves previously worn by Carol throughout her treatment at the facility.
